Aladdin projector Lights: Reviving Bayi Sugar Factory’s Glory

I. Project Background

Located in the core of Shihezi City, Xinjiang, the Cultural and Creative Block of Shihezi Bayi Sugar Factory is a rare modern industrial site representative in Xinjiang and the northwest. Its predecessor, the “March 8th” old industrial zone, carries precious historical memories and the spirit of hard work. In 2024, Shihezi Cultural Tourism Investment Group renovated the old site under the concept of “preserving industrial sites for new-age revival”, and incorporated a high-quality projector system into the plan—the projector serves as a key medium to reproduce the old industrial zone’s past, and the projector also becomes an important part of the cultural display system, allowing visitors to experience the sugar factory’s historical changes via the projector’s dynamic projection.

Shenzhen Aladdin Lighting Technology undertook the block’s overall lighting project with its professional strength and rich cases. It combined modern lighting technology with the projector system, using the projector’s precise projection and coordinated lighting effects to help this industrial heritage transform into a vibrant cultural hub.

II. Ingenious Solution: Professional Design, Precise Implementation

Facing the 12 – meter – high industrial building facade, Aladdin’s technical team surveyed the site multiple times. Based on the factory’s history, we proposed the “Light Narrative · Shadow Regeneration” concept and customized a multi – level lighting solution.

• Core Equipment Configuration:
  • One 700W high – powerprojector (0.4 lens) for long – distance, high – definition projection as the main visual focus.
  • Nine 350W Phantom four – picture – changing projectors (0.6 lens) for dynamic multi – picture rotation, telling the factory’s history.
  • Nine 100W floating projectors (0.9 lens) to enhance immersion and interaction with flexible lighting.
  • One 30W firefly laser lamp to add a dreamy touch with simulated firefly twinkles.
  • Six 350W beam lights to outline the building structure and highlight its beauty.
• Carousel Content Design:
We developed nearly a hundred customized lenses for the 350W Phantom projector system. The projector content, integrating historical images, mechanical elements, and local symbols, shows the factory’s transformation over time, giving new life to the old facade.
